(1) As soon as a complaint or notice of any offense mentioned in Schedule-1 or Schedule-2 is registered in accordance with Section 4, the police officer or investigation officer assigned to investigate such offense shall immediately conduct a preliminary investigation.
(2) After starting the preliminary investigation according to sub-section (1), such police officer or investigating officer shall send the report to the district attorney's office within three days. (3) After receiving the preliminary report in accordance with sub-section (1), the public prosecutor may study it and give necessary instructions to the investigating officer to investigate any matter related to the offense.
(4) It shall be the duty of the concerned investigating officer to comply with the instructions given under sub-section (3).
